Beta-Sitosterol -Roger Mason
Young Again we recommend the plant substance "beta-sitosterol" often.
You recall it is a natural extract found in sugar cane pulp (after the sugar is
pressed out), pine oil, and soybeans. It is contained in very small,
insignificant amounts in saw palmetto, Pygeum africanum, nettles, and other
herbs that are supposed to be good for prostate health. Therefore, the
herbs and extracts of saw palmetto, etc. are biologically useless. You must buy
the pure beta-sitosterol to get any value, and take about 300 mg of it each
day. This will be found as total mixed
sterols. The trade term “beta-sitosterol” really refers to a mixture of
sitosterol, stigmasterol, and campesterol.
sell plain beta-sitosterol as Natural Cholesterol® on our website. We also
offer Better Cholesterol® with added beta glucan and soy isoflavones. Beta-sitosterol
is the most effective supplement to help lower your cholesterol and
triglycerides. Please read my book Lower Cholesterol Without Drugs to
learn how to lower yours naturally with diet, lifestyle and natural supplements.
You can rarely find beta-sitosterol in drug stores, or generally even your
local health food store. Most mail order vitamin catalogs don't even carry it,
so one has to do an Internet search. Even Puritan’s Pride, the largest vitamin
corporation in the world, only sells a mere 125 mg sterol supplement. There are
many prostate products out there, but none of them nearly as complete and
effective as Beta Prostate®. Just read the labels on any of these. You’ll find
nearly all of them contain useless saw palmetto and other herbs.
The average American diet is estimated to contain about 300 mg of mixed sterols in their vegetables every day. These vital sterols are found in literally every vegetable we eat, only in small amounts. Vegetarians, on the other hand, are estimated to eat about 600 mg day of plant sterols, or more than twice as much as the usual meat/potatoes/white bread diet of most people in our country. You will never get enough of these valuable plant sterols unless you take a supplement. Women can help reduce their risk of breast cancer by taking the same sterols. Breast cancer is the female equivalent of prostate cancer, with the same causes and cures. The international published science on the benefits of mixed plant sterols is simply overwhelming. More studies are done very year.(In 2011 we sold Beta Prostate® to New Vitality. In 2016 we will again sell a prostate supplement based on plant sterols.) You can buy it at www.betaprostate.com.
