Asprin For Cancer and Heart Health? -Roger Mason

Many of you readers have heard that daily low dose aspirin prevents stroke, improves your heart and artery health, and is good for post heart attack patients. Even Dr. McDougall (read the Dr. McDougall article) promotes this. Some “health advocates”, like the Life Extension Foundation, go even further and claim aspirin helps prevent various cancers such as prostate, esophageal, stomach, colorectal, and pancreatic. These same morons tell you, “cholesterol doesn’t matter”, They even go so far as to tell you low cholesterol is dangerous! Other “experts” claim toxic ibuprofen is also heart healthy! The allopathic, and very overpriced, Mayo Clinic says that men over 60 who poison themselves with low dose aspirin and ibuprofen every day reduce their risk of prostate cancer by a full two thirds. What a bald faced lie! They further claim that postmeno-pausal women who take aspirin got less pancreatic cancer. Another lie. While aspirin does have some anti-clotting activity, very few people need this. Taking natural supplements like vitamin E will achieve the same goal, while providing countless other health benefits, rather than side ef-fects. The real shame is that millions of people listen to insanity like this, and follow such irrat-ional advice. You now see ads on TV telling you to take aspirin for heart health. Millions of men and women in America take aspirin every day as a “health supplement”. This is undeniable proof of how stupid the great unwashed masses really are. P.T. Barnum would be proud of the aspirin propaganda. Aspirin is a poison, not a health supplement!

If you want to prevent coronary heart disease and cancer, just make better food choices. Improve your diet and lifestyle. Eat a low fat, high fiber diet of whole grains, beans, and fresh green and yellow vegetables. Stop eating the saturated animal fats in meat, poultry, eggs, and dairy foods.  Take scientifically proven supplements. Read Serious Supplement Program. Balance your basic hormones, as unhealthy hormone levels are a major cause of coronary heart problems. Read Balance Your Hormones. Make sure your fasting blood sugar is 85 or less (not 100 or less, as your doctor will tell you.) Get regular exercise, even if it is “just” a half hour walk every day. Limit or end bad habits like desserts, alcohol, tobacco, and coffee. Fast every week from dinner to dinner. Stop taking all Rx drugs (read Most Medicated Nation). Read the article Seven Steps to Natural Health.

The single biggest predictor of cardiovascular health is your total cholesterol (TC). Read my book Lower Cholesterol Without Drugs. The average adult American has a TC level of about 240. Your doctor will tell you that 200 is the goal, but the real goal is about 150 mg/dl. A 150 level is practical and realistic. You do not have to be a vegetarian or a saint to do this, but you can’t eat bacon cheeseburgers for lunch either. Your total cholesterol and triglyceride levels are your most important indicators. Trigs should be under 100. C-reactive protein, uric acid, and homocysteine are other three basic factors. They should be low normal. Hypertension is the most common medical condition in the world. Read my book Lower Blood Pressure without Drugs.

Doesn’t common sense tell you that a low-fat, high fiber diet of natural foods is going to protect you from heart disease and cancer? Diet is everything. Americans eat a whopping 42% fat cal-ories, and most all of these are saturated artery clogging fats. Rural Asians generally have chol-esterol levels of about 150 mg/dl, and heart and artery disease is uncommon. Their CHD rates are a fraction of ours. American TC levels run about 240 and we have some of the highest CHD rates in the world. Rural Asians eat about 15% fat calories in their diet, and most of these come from vegetables and seafood. Their cancer, diabetes, and other disease rates are a fraction of ours, especially the most epidemic cancers like breast, uterine, ovarian, colon, and prostate.

Make better food choices, take proven supplements, balance your basic hormones, get regular exercise, fast weekly, don’t take Rx drugs, limit or stop bad habits. This is what natural health is all about. A total program of diet and lifestyle. Taking a poison like aspirin will just make your health worse.
