This crusted over very dramatically within two days. It was red and inflamed and sore. She applied vitamin E to the area daily. Within three weeks the crust had fallen off, and the skin was healed. There was, of course, a small white scar where the malignancy had destroyed the healthy scalp tissue. It was not very visible under her hair.

The pharmaceutical corporations developed an oral or injected semisynthetic form of mandrake root called etoposide to treat various cancers. It costs $1,800, and has horrible side effects.
