Dr. David Williams is Another Dope -Roger Mason
Dr. David Williams writes a “natural health” newsletter called Alternatives. You can go to our free library and see the previous article on him called, “Alternatives to What?” This guy is a real dope. A book could be written on how dumb he really is, and how little he knows about natural health.
He says, “Cholesterol doesn't cause heart disease. Studies prove this beyond a doubt. Cholesterol is innocent. I've been proclaiming cholesterol's innocence since 1992, and plenty of convincing research confirms this.” Douglass, Sears, Crayhon, Eades, West, Mercola, the Atkins crowd, and the Life Extinction people are big on the cholesterol-doesn't-count theory. Please look at the chart on page 10 in Lower Cholesterol Without Drugs to convince yourself that total cholesterol is THE most important factor in coronary artery health (all 9 books are in www.youngagain.org to read). Folks, the most comprehensive and largest studies in the world on cholesterol consistently prove total cholesterol (TC) is THE most important factor in heart and artery health. Triglycerides, C-reactive protein (CRP) and homocysteine are the other three. You should have a total cholesterol level of about 150. The average American adult runs about 240! We have the highest rates of heart and artery disease in the world.
The Multiple Risk Factor Intervention Trial (MRFIT) study was second in size only to the famous Framingham Study, and involved 361,662 (over one third of a million) men aged 35-57. You cannot argue with results from a third of a million people. The Framingham Study came to the same conclusion- CHOLESTEROL IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IN CORONARY HEART DISEASE. Notice that any level of 150 raises your risk of CHD and once you go over 200 your risk rises exponentially. Just going from 150 to 200 raises your risk of heart disease a full one third.
David also tells you chondroitin is an essential supplement in curing arthritis when it has no value at all. Chondroitin cannot be absorbed by your intestinal walls, as the molecule is too large. That's why we don't sell it. Do you know one other supplement company in the world who refuses to sell chondroitin? Please read Treating Bone & Joint Problems Naturally and the articles on chondroitin in our library.
He wants to reveal “The 'Sex Pill' They Don't Want You to Know About”. Turns out he's talking about the common amino acid arginine. Arginine is next to useless, despite all the hype in the muscle magazines. That's why we don't sell it. “The secret those drug-makers don't want you to know is that there's a much cheaper (and safer) way to give your love life a boost of amorous oomph. It's with L-arginine, an amino acid that works the same way their popular pill (i.e. Viagra, Cialis, etc.) does, but for pennies, instead of their $10-a-pop price tag." If you believe you can cure your sexual problems with a Magic Pill full of arginine you need to find a new website to feed your fantasies. Dr. Dave is very good at feeding fantasies obviously.
He's also found a cure for cancer. No, not a whole grain based diet with proven supplements, natural hormones, fasting, and exercise, but another Magic Pill. He says I3C (indole-3- carbinol) “wipes out cancer”. He further says, “These new I3C capsules let you supersaturate your body, so cancer cells never have a chance.” While I3C is a fine and proven supplement, he doesn't seem to realize DIM (di-indolylmethane) is twice as strong at half the price, since it is the direct digestive metabolite of I3C. DIM is a wonderful and proven supplement, but you aren't going to cure cancer if you eat an entire bottle of it every day.
He's so dumb he thinks saw palmetto is good for your prostate. Saw palmetto contains one part in 3,000 of actual beta-sitosterols. One part in 3,000. You would literally have to take 3,000 capsules of saw palmetto powder to get the equivalent of one capsule of purified beta-sitosterols from sugar cane pulp. That goes for Pygeum africanum, nettles and pumpkin seeds as well. Beta Prostate® is literally 3,000 times stronger than saw palmetto.
Would you like to know, “The Secret Reason We're Overweight”? That's right; he has another Magic Pill that makes you lose weight. “If you have friends or loved ones who'd love to lose 20% of their flab, pass them a free copy of my Special Report, CLA: The Fat That Makes You Slim. Just take some CLA fat capsules (conjugated linoleic acid) and lose 20% of your flab- “in just 12 weeks. Sure David, we'll eat a lot of fat to lose weight. Please read CLA Won't Help You Lose Weight in our library. The only way to lose weight is to make better food choices and exercise. If the “secret” to losing weight was to take CLA, obesity would have been cured years ago.
Does this guy have anything good to say? Well, actually he does once in a while. How are you going to separate the good news from the bullcrap? He does tell you aspirin is not a heart healthy supplement. He does tell you the ingestion of aluminum (as in baking powder) is correlated with our epidemic of Alzheimer's disease. He doesn't seem to know anything about pregnenolone, acetyl-L-carnitine, or phosphatidyl serine (PS) to prevent Alzheimer's however. He does tell you melatonin is a powerful healing hormone, and not merely a sleep aid. He recommends CoQ10. He tells you NutraSweet® (aspartame) is a poison, but why isn't he telling you about the dangers of Splenda® (sucralose)? He recommends transdermal progesterone, but claims by itself it is an “osteoporosis cure”. Osteoporosis can only be treated by eating a whole grain based diet, taking a dozen different supplements, resistance exercise, and balancing all your basic hormones (including testosterone, DHEA, androstenedione, estriol, pregnenolone, melatonin, and your thyroid hormones T3 and T4).
He has thousands of readers who cough up $49.95 a year to read his ridiculous advice. This proves how stupid people really are. We never charge you for information. Our newsletter is free, our library is free, and you get any one of my nine books for free with any order. Please go to www.youngagain.org to read any of these.
