CoQ10 Frauds -Roger MasonCoenzyme Q10 (ubiquinone) is a vital supplement for anyone over 40. You need about 100 mg to get any real benefits. Take this with your food or flax oil as it is oil soluble and needs oil to be absorbed well. This is an expensive raw material, and costs about $1,000 a kg in 2008 for real Japanese biocultured product. You must use real Japanese biocultured CoQ10 and nothing else. Soon Japan will be opening companies in the U.S. to use their same exact bioculture process. No other country can make this for some reason. Third rate companies are always looking for ways to cheat you on CoQ10 products since it is so expensive. Here at Young Again it is only $24.95 for 60 X 100 mg. We compete with Puritan’s Pride who buy about one third of the Japanese production every year. Why don’t they offer you a better price? There are three frauds regarding Coenzyme Q10. The first fraud is low dose (like 30 mg) with “special delivery systems”. These claim to be as effective as much larger doses. Baloney. You need 100 mg of actual CoQ10. Companies that sell you smaller amound with the special delivery systems are crooks. The second fraud is cheap Chinese or Korean CoQ10. You’ll find these at the member-ship clubs and some catalogs and Internet sites. When you see 60 X 100 mg for, say, $14.99 you know this is impossible. You just can’t sell real Japanese biocultured CoQ10 at these prices. They use Chinese or Korean product that is made from tobacco stems. No reputable company will use this as it is unstable and has a short shelf life. The third fraud is very new; ubiquinol is sold rather than ubiquinone. Yes, CoQ10 breaks down into ubiquinol when you take it. Yes, ubiquinol is twice as strong as CoQ10. What’s the problem? Ubiquinol is very unstable and breaks down. You can’t buy it and sell it frozen very well as you would ice cream. There is no scientific evidence at all that this new patented form of ubiquinol has any shelf life. Companies such as Life Extinction claim it is, “eight times stronger than CoQ10”. However, they suggest you take up to eight 50 mg capsules of ubiquinol, which 400 mg. This doesn’t make any sense. The worst part is they want $78 for a bottle of 100 X 50 mg ubiquinol! Obviously you’re better of with real CoQ10 for $24.95. Life Extinction does sell real CoQ10 for $73 for a bottle of 100 X 100 mg. What a deal! Oh, you also have to pay $75 a year to join the Life Extinction Foundation for the “privelege” of buying overpriced junk like this. CoQ10 is a definite supplement anyone over the age of 40 should take, and it only costs you about 40 cents a day. Be sure to take this with food or with your flax oil so it will be absorbed. CoQ10, like DIM, is oil soluble and not water soluble. You cannot get CoQ10 in your food so you must use a supplement. Our blood and tissue levels fall badly as we age. Low CoQ10 levels are associated with many illnesses and medical conditions. There are no real CoQ10 toothpastes. They would be a lovely peach color if they were real and had at least 0.5% in them. The only real CoQ10 Cream on the market seems to be our “CoQ10 1% Cream” and our “Miraculous Cream” with 0.5% and seven other ingredients. Ideally everyone over the age of 40 should be taking about 20 supplements plus the hormones they need. CoQ10 has a lot of science behind it and more scientific studies all the time. Be sure to take the 100 mg you need. Some very ill people can benefit from 200 mg for one year. Buy only real Japanese biocultured product. Click here to return to the article library.
