Coral Calcium is Just Overpriced Calcium Carbonate -Roger Mason
This will be a mini-column today. This is the second column to expose coral calcium. Please also read the article "Coral Calcium is Crap". Colloidal minerals was the biggest farce to ever hit the natural health scene- until coral calcium came along. Coral calcium is simply overpriced CALCIUM CARBONATE. That's all. Go look up "coral" in a good dictionary or encyclopedia. You'll see that all coral is simply rocks made up of plain old generic, inexpensive calcium carbonate. You're paying big bucks for ground up rocks. You cannot absorb calcium without having magnesium and boron (and preferably silicon, strontium, and vitamin D) to go with it. You would have to eat 30 capsules a day of any coral calcium product to get the 3 mg of boron you need. What about the "72 minerals and trace elements" it is supposed to contain? Baloney! In some brands you'll find a little zinc, or copper, but there are no biologically meaningful amounts of magnesium, boron, selenium, chromium, strontium, cobalt, tin, nickel, iron, iodine, molybdenum, cesium, manganese, silicon, germanium, vanadium, or silicon- much less "72 minerals".
You want a good calcium supplement? Go to any corner drugstore and you'll find lots of good, inexpensive calcium supplements. Calcium citrate is a very good source, for example, and very inexpensive. You can buy overpriced coral calcium, or you can find generic calcium carbonate for under $5.00. It's all the same.
If you want to get the minerals you need just buy All Your Minerals for $6.00 a month. That's right- the most complete mineral supplement on earth for only $6.00 a month. You'll get the calcium, magnesium, boron, copper, zinc, iron, selenium, chromium, molybdenum, manganese, iodine, vanadium, germanium, nickel, tin, strontium, cobalt, silicon, cesium, and rubidium you need in the biological amounts you need. You'll also get free All Your Vitamins with the 13 vitamins you need. Coral calcium has been the biggest farce ever perpetrated on the natural health industry and the TV infomercials seem to be on every channel you turn to late at night. The FTC and FDA have already filed numerous actions against them, but it doesn't seem to slow them down a bit. Countless millions of naive people have fallen for this scam and it will probably continue for months. Bob Barefoot should have gone to jail for this. Click here to return to the article library.
