Focus Factor® Doesn't Cut It
- Roger Mason
Surely you’ve seen the ads everywhere to get a “free” bottle of Focus
Factor for only $4.95 postage. The problem is you must use your credit or
debit card for the auto-ship plan and you will then be billed about
$149.95 every month for the rest of your life. It is almost impossible to
cancel or get a refund. Do a search of “Focus Factor” on any search engine
and you will find endless consumer complaints where customers could not
get refunds, could not cancel their auto-ship, and lost a lot of time and
money fighting with the parent company Vital Basics. In fact Vital Basics
was cited by government officials at the FTC for various illegal
activities including false claims, fined $1,000,000 and ordered to cease
these practices.
What is in Focus Factor® that runs the price up to $39.95 for a one month
supply of 120 tablets that costs less than $3.00 to produce? That’s right;
it costs less than three bucks to make this stuff. Basically it is a
second rate vitamin and mineral pill that doesn’t contain the RDAs of many
of the ingredients. You just get 12 of the 13 known vitamins (there is no
vitamin K which is basic). You get 10 minerals (plus a useless 50 mg of
potassium which we are not deficient in anyway) and many of these are also
lacking the needed RDAs.
You get useless, biologically insignificant amounts of DMAE, L-glutamine,
Bacopa herb, L-pyroglutamic acid, PS, DHEA, choline, inositol, bilberry,
GABA, grape seed, vinpocetine, Huperzia herb, boron, and vanadium. They
hide behind the term “proprietary formulation” so as not to reveal that
there are meaningless amounts of all these supplements. Unfortunately this
is legal. If they put realistic amounts in there they would clearly and
proudly state it right on the label. If it ain’t on the label it ain’t in
the bottle.
The Berkeley Wellness Letter has exposed this as overpriced and
ineffective. You would do much better buying a generic multi vitamin and
mineral product.
What CAN you do for your mind, memory, cognition and brain metabolism?
First of all you can eat well and make better food choices. Secondly you
can take all 16 of the supplements recommended in my books to keep your
entire body healthy. The two most important ones are 100 mg of PS (phosphatidyl
serine) and 500 mg of acetyl-L-carnitine. Another supplement you should
take is Total Minerals since we are all mineral deficient. Why are we
suggesting a name brand of minerals? For the simple reason it is the only
real mineral formulation in the world containing 18 vital minerals in the
amounts we need biologically. Gingko is “exogenous” and has no effect
after about six months of use. Thirdly you can balance all your basic
hormone levels especially DHEA, testosterone, melatonin, T3, T4,
progesterone (yes, men as well), and especially PREGNENOLONE. Women should
balance their three estrogens especially estriol. Fourthly, you should
exercise daily and get your blood flowing to your brain.
Pregnenolone is THE most important brain hormone, and generally falls in
men and women prior to reaching the age of 40 where it then tends to
stabilize. Women can take 25 mg and men can take 50 mg. You MUST test your
pregnenolone level with a blood or saliva test. Your doctor will have no
idea what you are talking about and charge you about $100 for an office
visit and $150 for the blood test. He will have no clue as to what the
ranges are or how to supplement your level after extorting you for all
this money. You can simply buy a pregnenolone test kit for about $40 and
saliva test yourself at 9:00 AM in the morning. You cannot take
pregnenolone or any hormone without testing your levels as hyper levels
are just as harmful as hypo levels.
Alzheimer’s and dementia are epidemic in America. Alzheimer’s was unknown
until recently. The causes are not mysterious at all when you look at our
diet and lifestyles. Americans eat over 40% saturated fats, 160 pounds of
various sugars they don’t need, twice the protein they need, twice the
calories they need, and all our grains are refined. We get almost no
exercise and most people suffer from a lot of stress in their lives. We
guzzle coffee, alcohol, sodas, cigarettes and prescription drugs.
You can have a sharp mind and good memory all your life if you will simply
take care of your health naturally.
