More Goofball Doctors

- Roger Mason

You have probably been getting advertisements in the mail for various doctors who supposedly promote natural medicine. This would be a wonderful thing for medical doctors trained in allopathy (treat the symptom and damn the cause!) to start dealing with the cause of your condition and treating it with natural vitamins, minerals, supplements and herbs. Every single one of them seems to be just another arrogant, egotistic, self-promoting blowhard who wouldn't know natural health from ear wax.

You may have gotten advertisements for "The Sinatra Health Report". Stephen Sinatra at times really seems to be a sincere man who is trying to promote natural medicine instead of prescription drugs, surgery and radiation. A closer look tells a completely different story. When you don't know what you're talking about, it takes a lot of hubris to write your own monthly natural health letter.

To be fair about all this,Stephen does advocate the use of some good supplements like CoQ10, alpha lipoic acid, N-acetyl cysteine, beta glucan and others. Obviously you have to tell people some valid facts to write a newsletter and have any credibility at all. Even old Robert Atkins at least told people not to eat simple sugars, refined grains and hydrogenated fats. Then he fell over dead from following his own advice.

You start seeing the problems when Stephen tells you chocolate is good for you and "Why physicians are starting to eat chocolate". Now folks, we would all love to see some studies showing us that chocolate is good for us. That would be wonderful. Maybe we could dig up some that says beer is good for us as well. He actually says, "Researchers have just discovered that chocolate has more benefits than disadvantages". He goes on to say it improves blood flow, has disease fighting antioxidants and the phenylethylamine in it is euphoric- kinda like benign cocaine I guess. That “study” was a paid ad by a chocolate manufacturers association.

If that kind of stupidity doesn't impress you, he has a natural alternative to Viagra®. He wants you to take the South American herb Muira puama. This won't help your sex life one whit. He then wants you to take wild oats (Avena sativa) and some amino acids in insignificant amounts that wouldn't help you if you took them by the pound. Men, if you have a potency problem you can bet that more than 90% of it is PSYCHOLOGICAL. If someone put a sweet young 18 year old girl in front of you your potency would suddenly return in a blink. If you feel you have a physical basis for lack of sexual ability try testing your DHEA and testosterone levels and bring them back to the levels you had when you were 30 and virile. Try losing weight, exercising, eating well, and knocking off addictions like alcohol, prescription drugs, smoking and drinking coffee and get your health back Good sex equals good health. You can't have good sex if you're not healthy. Good sex also equals good relationship. Happy couples have good sex.

He goes on to rave and rant about Poly-MVA being a cure for cancer. You don't have to change your diet, take any other supplements, balance your hormone levels or stop smoking or anything else- just take this totally overpriced, completely unproven, unnatural supplement and your cancer will disappear while you're shoving more hamburgers down your throat. In 2006 Poly-MVA has almost disappeared as people discovered what a scam it is.

He goes on to tell you that women can balance their estrogen and progesterone without using actual hormones! You just take these rare Chinese herbs instead. Yeah, right Stephen. What a moron? How did he get through medical school?

He thinks skim milk is a health food as no one ever explained that all adults have a universal allergy to lactose and milk proteins like casein. We could go on and on about his almost complete lack of knowledge regarding natural health but why bother?

Save your money on this letter.
