How Not to Take Supplements

- Roger Mason

Recently I spoke with a man who has prostate cancer. Prostate cancer can usually be cured in only eight months with a healthy diet, good supplements, balancing your basic hormones and fasting occasionally. This man's diet was really quite good that he adopted after being diagnosed. And he deserves a world of credit for turning his back on the doctors who wanted to butcher him, irradiate him, and poison him while taking all his money. Old Roger is not a medical doctor and certainly would never want to be one since they practice allopathy and cover up your symptoms while ignoring the causes of your illnesses. I do talk to men every day with prostate cancer, man to man, and we talk about what they can do to cure themselves naturally. He wrote out a diet diary of what he eats and his list of supplements. DIET IS EVERYTHING and his diet is really quite good. He eats whole grains, salads, lots of vegetables, vegetable and fruit juices, and no meat, milk, dairy or eggs. He allows himself a serving of chicken once a week. A very whole foods, low fat, high fiber nutrient diet, with very low calories. Eating a healthy diet like this is what most cancer patients are unwilling to do. They just haven't figured out you can't eat in your casket even if a bag of burgers is buried with you.

The problem was his supplements. He had read some cockamamie book on mega doses and went for the "more is better" philosophy. He was taking 1300 mg of calcium when 600 is more than enough. He was taking 1200 mg of magnesium when 400 is more than enough. He was taking a very dangerous 90,000 IU of vitamin A when 5,000 is all you need and beta carotene is a much better choice as there is no vitamin A buildup in your liver. He was taking far too much B complex and wasn't even sure which B vitamins he was taking and what the RDA is for each of them. He was taking 1,200 IU of vitamin E when 400 is plenty. He claims he is taking "15,000 mg" of vitamin D but vitamin D is measured in IU's not milligrams. 400 to 800 is what you need there. He is taking 600 mcg of selenium and selenium is very toxic in excess and 200 mcg is fine. The worst thing was the 6,000 mg (six grams) of vitamin C he was killing himself with. You need about 60 mg a day and he was taking 100 times what he needed every day or more than a three month supply daily! This is nuts folks. This column has explained before mega doses of anything are bad and unbalance your system and mega doses of vitamin C acidify your blood making your sickly, not healthy.

In addition he was taking garbage like kombucha tea (harmless fortunately in small amounts), saw palmetto (there's no beta-sitosterol in it and no other alkaloids that are effective; you need 300 mg of real beta-sitosterol), colloidal silver which this column has exposed as a scam, and taking Udo's Oil (a blend of natural oils) thinking that oils are good for cancer somehow. One gram of flax oil a day is the only oil that is "good for you" that I've found. He was not taking the REAL, scientifically proven supplements for prostate cancer like curcumin, DIM, beta glucan, CoQ10, citrus pectin, flax oil, soy isoflavones, green tea extract (decaf), quercitin, milk thistle and especially the most important one of all- beta-s itosterol.

Let's see if he changes and also adds natural hormones such as melatonin, testosterone, pregnenolone, DHEA and progesterone to his regimen. If he does he'll be cancer free by the end of summer.
