Be A Real Man for $59.95 plus $4.95 S&H
- Roger Mason
There is a rather boring investment newsletter by Don McAlvany called
appropriately enough the McAlvany Intelligence Advisor. He now hawks some very
questionable natural supplements and sells an even more boring alternative
health newsletter, the McAlvany Health Alert. In his current issue he offers a
product called "MALE" for men whose masculinity is going by the wayside. It is
only $59.95 plus $4.95 S&H so hurry up and buy some men!
Don says that the developer, Jonathan Wright is "one of the leading physicians
of alternative medicine" and quotes him as saying, "I was aware that there were
no formulations on the health-food store shelves that contained all the items at
the scientifically justified levels, that I wanted to offer patients. Having
looked at the studies and sifted through the evidence, it naturally occurred to
me that we ought to put them all in one formula. The results of my efforts are
now contained in MALE."
What studies is he referring to? What evidence has he seen? This ridiculous
product is scientifically justified?
Don says that "All of MALE's ingredients were chosen to provide benefits beyond
erectile functioning and enhancement of libido. All are hacked by scientific
studies which indicate effects ranging from cognitive increases to mental
fitness to robust well-being." Don also says the supplement "bolsters the use,
release and function of testosterone. The ingredients in MALE have been shown
not only to improve sexual function in men, but also to enhance aspects of their
health." He goes on to say, "Unlike some prescription products, like Viagara
(Don can't spell Viagra® and doesn't know you need to identify this as a
registered trademark) which are just a quick fix supplementation with natural
products can restore, maintain, and improve natural testosterone levels by
getting at the underlying conditions of andropause. Natural products don't have
the severe side effects of prescription drugs. MALE supports various aspect of
normal male function, including the stimulation of natural testosterone
production by the man's own body." He claims the "broad array of nutrients and
phytonutrients" in MALE will :
-
Enhance testosterone availability
-
Strengthen the cardiovascular system
-
Increase release of growth hormone
-
Improve urinary flow
-
Burn fat
-
Lessen or prevent urinary urgency
-
Fight anxiety and depression
-
Increase physical endurance
-
Increases sperm count.
Men, go out and buy some MALE and take it for three months to be fair. Now see
if your testosterone goes up, your heart is stronger, your growth hormone rises,
you urinate more freely, you burned off fat, you don't have an urgent need to
urinate, you are less anxious and depressed, you have more endurance and your
sperm count goes up. Ladies, you buy some for your aging husband and see if any
of the above happens. By the way, I see no guarantee of any kind whatsoever from
Don or Jonathan. Don't they have any faith in their product? If you get no
results then you're out the money and they laugh all the way to the bank? No
assurance at all that this stuff will do ANYTHING for you in any way, shape or
form?
Well, you must be wondering what's in this Magical Formula. If you take five
caplets a day you get a piddling 50 mg of magnesium, some zinc, selenium and
copper. You get a biologically useless 50 mg of potassium, and we're not
potassium deficient in the first place. You get 2.8 grams of L-arginine, but
this seems to be more a promotion of the weight lifting magazines than the
scientific community. You get 1 gram of the herb Muira puama which has been
touted in advertisements as some kind of Amazonian Love Drug. The scientific
community seems to think otherwise. You get 750 mg of the useless herb Tribulus
terrestis which has been proven scientifically not to have anything to do with
testosterone production at all. They claim Tribulis is "known for its legendary
effect on libido." This is another promotion by weight lifting magazines for
young meatheads who are already up to their ears in testosterone. You get 500 mg
of nettles extract. What do nettles have to do with all of this? This contains
about one part in 3,000 of betasitosterol so you'd have to take hundreds of
capsules of a powerful 10 to 11 extract. You get 300 mg of Avena sativa extract
otherwise known as oats. Wouldn't it be cheaper and better to eat a bowl of
oatmeal? 300 mg of the Indian herb Ashwaganda extract. Seen any sexual
rejuvenation studies on Ashwaganda lately? 250 mg of choline. What's that for?
250 mg of ginseng extract. 250 mg of Gingko biloba extract. And a laughable 5 mg
of yohimbe- that's right 5 mg of yohimbe and it's not even an extract! That's
what you get for $59.95 folks.
And who is actually selling these Wondrous Potions? Western Health Products in
Durango, CO otherwise known as Dr. Ron Wheeler. He is the rocket scientist who
invented "Pee Nuts" for prostate health and refused to list how much of the
ingredients on his label contrary to federal law. Was he embarrassed about the
insignificant amounts of these 15 powerful and potent supplements? Was he trying
to hide something? Was this just full of window dressing? Go to
http://www.westernhealthproducts.com/ and look at their overpriced
supplements for a good laugh. You cannot find the ingredients in them no matter
how hard you look on the site. It is just mind boggling that people will
actually go to a site like that and send them money. Life is stranger than
fiction certainly.
What can men do about waning masculinity as they age? THEY CAN TURN THEIR LIFE
AROUND THAT'S WHAT! They can quit looking for The Quick Fix advertised on
television. They can quit stuffing double cheeseburgers in their face while they
sit mesmerized by the boob-tube. They can eat whole, natural foods, take a long
walk every day, join the local gym and lose weight- without going on a diet.
They can take REAL clinically proven supplements like beta-sitosterol, CoQ10,
flax oil, quercitin, DIM, PS, acetyl-L-carnitine, beta glucan, a complete
mineral supplement, glucosamine, FOS, acidophilus, lipoic acid and vitamin E.
They can test the two most important of all sexual hormones- DHEA and
testosterone and raise them with DHEA and androstenedione if they are low.
Nearly all men over 50 are low in these two powerful androgens and raising them
can have very dramatic benefits including their sexual performance. And they can
do all this without a doctor. They can take melatonin and pregnenolone. They can
get their thyroid tested for T3 and T4. Most people over 50 have some kind of
thyroid problem and correcting it can change your life. Or they can send in
$59.95 plus $4.95 S&H.
